Bar Mitzvah 101: What to know for Sam's big day
What is a bar mitzvah? | Bar mitzvah translates from Hebrew to English as "son of commandment" and technically refers to the person being celebrated. Sam has studied for many years and is now of age when he can read from the Torah to the congregation and lead the Shabbat Services. Today is about celebrating this huge accomplishment. |
What do I do at the service? | Smile. Sway to the music. Hear the messages. Feel the love. |
Will I understand the service? | Yes! While about half of the service is recited in Hebrew, the prayer book contains English translation. The Rabbi also offers explanations of the service or prayer to help all feel included. |
Saturday Evening, June 28, 2025 - Celebration
The Party: | Think Hollywood glitz and glamour. Dress is cocktail attire but if you are so inspired to go all out, do it! Some may want to impersonate an actor?? The choice is yours. Comfortable dancing shoes are a must! |
Where: | The Agave Room at The Rio 149 West Mountain Ave. Fort Collins, CO 80524 |
When: | 6:00–10:00pm |
Details: | It is located in Old Town Fort Collins. Parking will be on the streets surrounding or in a near Public Parking structure. |
Sunday, June 29, 2025 - Farewell Brunch
Brunch: | Private gathering for family and out-of-town guests by invitation only for brunch. Let's get together one more time before everyone starts their journey home. More information to come. |
